Could you please suggest directives and precautions to be taken while connecting JTAG to SMJ320F2812 device.

Is there any documented recommendations?

Are you asking about the schematic connectivity? Or ESD type handling when physically plugging in an emulator?

Typically a JTAG header is only exposed during board level test and/or programming performed in an ESD controlled manufacturing environment. It is not designed to be exposed externally in a product such as a USB or other interface connection. If your system requires the header to be exposed outside of manufacturing environment, then you would need to add external protection circuitry taking care not to disturb pin functionality.
