SN54ALS374A: What's the difference between the parts with the J and AJ suffix?

Part Number: SN54ALS374A

On the datasheet, every one of these parts with ALS also has the A or AJ suffix, and if it just has 'AS' it has no 'A' on the end, but we received a part marked SNJ54ALS374J.  What's the difference between that and the SNJ54ALS374AJ?

  • Bill,

This question was asked by Aaron Spaete, presumably on your behalf about a week ago.

The non-A version is quite old.   The specifications are pretty close to the same.  However the A version has some improved timing.

Here is side by side image of the two datasheets spec table and old DS for your review.

The history of the design change is lost.
