OMAPL137-HT: Is OMAPL137-HT available to be purchased? Are they any help available to program them?

Part Number: OMAPL137-HT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L137, MSP430F2619S-HT, SM470R1B1M-HT, SM320F2812-HT, SM320F28335-HT

Hi,

Is there any help available to start working with OMAPL137-HT and program it? I found the datasheet but for me it is a bit difficult to start working only based on the datasheet. I am looking for a practical example how to program them for recording digital data.

Do you sell them or they are just on the website?

Regards,

Bee

  • Hi,

The applications engineer supporting this device returns to the office on Monday at which time he will address your inquiry.

    Thanks
  • Bezak,
There is a Spectrum Digital floating point starter kit that utilizes the commercial version of L137 (not the HT version). It can be used to evaluate software and system evaluation. It can be found from the commercial device product folder: www.ti.com/.../OMAP-L137
    or directly here: www.ti.com/.../tmdsoskl137

  • Thanks Wade, but I am interested in HT version. What do your customer do if they want to program the HT version? I hope you do not mind if I ask a basic question. Can I use the OMAPL137 as a data aquisition system like reading sensor data, if I add ADC or using SPI for communications? I was confused that the kit you recomended is only for specific tasks.

    Bezak
  • The EVM is suggested for use for evaluation. After evaluating requirements with EVM, then you would build your own board using the -HT version. There is not an EVM available with an OMAPL137-HT.
The EVM referenced has expansion ports that can be used to validate your own requirements. Reference the schematics for the expansion ports on the spectrum digital link. The expansion ports cover EMIF, serial I/O(SPI + other), and audio. You can use these ports to implement additional hardware.

  • Thanks, Do you think I can put the OMAPL137-HT inside the Spectrum Digital floating point starter kit insstead of www.ti.com/.../OMAP-L137 to program it?

    Regards,
    Bezak
  • Unfortunately, no.
The HT version is in a 176 reduced pinout ceramic flat pack. The EVM is setup for a 256 pin BGA.
The EVM can be used for software evaluation, taking care not to utilize pins that have been removed from the 176pin package. This does introduce some challenges with handling memory. The HT version has limited memory access relative to the full pinout non-HT version.

There is limited collateral for the HT device. It was released based on customer demand.

  • Ok, Is there any high temerature processor available that we could program it with CCS. At the momemnt I am using MSP432p401R and anything close to this that work above 125C would be good. Ideally it should be low power.

    Bezak
  • Here is a listing of our HT processor/MCU offerings. The F2619 may be a good fit.
