BQ500410A Boot Fail Issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500410A

Dear TI Team.

My customer developed A6 Type charging pad using BQ500410A. However, 30 of 250 sets didn't work properly - No charge, LED display error, and so on...

I found the defect of INA199A1. The output of INA199A1 is 3.3V or 1.3V  in spite of no RX on the TX Pad.

Assuming non-FOD, If I replace defected INA199A1 with new or pulled I_Sense down to GND, the all of defected PWB ass'y  works well.

In normal, the output voltage of INA199A1 will increase as the current  increases. Anyway, I want to know how I_Sense pin effects the behaviour of BQ500xxx.

I'll check the reason  why INA199A1 was defected.

  • The I_Sense pin is used for monitoring input for both overcurrent protection and FOD.  If the INA199A1 is generating an output of 1.3V or 3.3V this  represents input current of 1.3A or 3.3A and will set a fault. During overcurrent fault the unit will shutdown.
