bq500211A Full Bridge Dead-Time for ZVS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500211A

Hello,

The bq500211A uses phase-shifted full bridge control. As per databook:

'PWM Output A, controls one half of the full bridge in a phase-shifted full bridge. Switching DPWM_A O deadtimes must be externally generated.'

Notably for this architecture the dead-time should be controlled/adapted based on load conditions etc to ensure zero-voltage switching (ZVS).

Do you have any app notes on this topic?

Is ZVS all but guaranteed by operation above resonance? Are switching losses not very significant so you achieve ZVS over most the operation range??
