CD74HCT221: CD74HCT221E Logic Diagram

Part Number: CD74HCT221

There is an error in the logic diagram. I know usage is on the decline and that Harris, or RCA before them, probably made the original error but I thought I would report it anyway. The A and B inputs are both driving the same line. One of the NOR gate inputs is not driven. The polarity of the A and B inputs is the same. A diagram is below showing what I think it should look like.

  • Hey Scott,

Thanks for bringing this up and letting us know. As you said this is an old Harris device so it will take a significant amount of time and resources to 'modernize' this and fix the mistake. While this is an error, it's a fairly small one that doesn't effect the proper usage for a vast majority of our customers.

I've added this to our internal tracking system to be reviews and updated in the next update of this datasheet. However, I'm marking this as low priority so it could take a long time before the issue is reviewed, fixed and implemented.

    Thanks,
    Rami
