SN74AXC1T45: Ultra low consumption level shifter uart application

Hi everyone,

We search a level shifter to change the level of the uart between microcontroller and NBIoT module.

The voltage of the microcontroller is between 2.0V and 3.6V and the level of the voltage of the uart of the module is 3.0V.

We actually find this part number SN74AXC1T45 but the consumption is very high (Maximum Quiescent Current (ICCA + ICCB) of 10 µA multiply by two).

The device should be ultra low consumption.

That 20 µA is the worst-case value at the most extreme temperatures. The typical consumption is much lower; see table 4 in the SN74AVC1T45 datasheet.

Understood. But there is no other texas instruments part number that consumes less than SN74AVC1T45?

Hey Blindu,

I recommend the SN74AXC2T245 for this. It can handle both the TX and RX signal and has lower power consumption than using two 1-channel options.

Which is difference between SN74AVC2T245 family and SN74AXC2T245 family?

Blindu,

The AXC family provides better performance and will have glitch-free power supply sequencing. In most cases, it'll be more beneficial to switch any AVC part for the AXC if possible.
