CD4073B: MIL SPEC VS STANDARD CATALOG

Part Number: CD4073B

What is the difference between Standard catalog logic gates and MIL spec logic gates in terms of reliability and specification. For example, CD4073B AND CD4073B-MIL share same datasheet and it is not clear if there are any physical or functional differences. In addition I could find MTBF data for the CD4073B but not  for the CD4073B-MIL. Is it the same?

  • Most military devices will be extremely similar, if not identical, in the electrical characteristics for a particular device -- differences are in the datasheet specifications.

The key differences are in the packaging and testing, however devices can have totally different designs to meet the same electrical requirements with higher reliability standards. The exact information will depend on which military standard the part was designed to meet.

You can use this site to see more reliability data, which is most easily reached through a link in the product folder -- info here. You can also request a reliability report from our customer support team here.
