Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working logic products of TI. Please see below his query for your reference.

Just want to know whether SN74AHC541DWR can drive SN74LVC1G11DBVR or not? it's output high current is 8 mA only

if not could you please suggest any part(8 bit) that can replace SN74LVC2G07DBVR (1bit )?

my first que is about SN74AHC541DWR 's output current is 8 mA , so i want to know whether it can drive other Ics ?

if it can't drive suggest any high current and 8 bit part similar to SN74AHC541DWR

    Hi Ray,

    Are you asking about using the SN74AHC541 to _power_ other logic ICs, or to just drive the inputs?

    I wouldn't recommend using one logic gate to power another, as that's not what they are designed to do.

    As for driving the inputs, 8 mA is thousands of times more current than a typical CMOS input will draw (usually 100nA to 1uA).

    Usually the bigger issue for drive strength is the total capacitance connected to the output. This will affect transition time and total delay. We recommend staying below 50pF if possible.
