SN74AXC2T245-Q1: Isolating UART signals between MCU and FTDI cable to prevent leakage current

Part Number: SN74AXC2T245-Q1

Hi TI Team,

I am contacting you today to ask a question regarding to the CAXC2T245QRSWRQ1 (SN74AXC2T245-Q1) part.

In my company we are currently designing a board that features an MCU where we want to be using an FTDI cable to control the debug UART of the MCU . When the board is powered OFF and the FTDI cable is plugged into the board we are concern that leakage current could flow into the UART TX/RX signals and prevent the MCU of booting up when power is applied to the board.

We are now considering to use the CAXC2T245QRSWRQ1 part to prevent this problem for occurring.

The active low OE signal will be connected to GND on board. When power is not applied to the board and the FTDI cable is connected to the board will the chip isolate port A to B?

Could you please confirm that this is achievable with the CAXC2T245QRSWRQ1 part.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Kostas Papouis
