Hello Guys,

Good day.

Device specs says "Input-Disable Feature Allows Floating Input Conditions." Our customer would like to understand more about this feature.

Can SN74AVC4T234 allow floating input? If so, what will be the output condition with floating input? Can you provide additional info on how this feature works.

    Revision B of the datasheet removed this feature.

    In a device that has this feature (e.g., SN74AUP1G126), the input is disabled when the output is disabled. The SN74AVC4T234 does not have an OE pin; the only time when the inputs are disabled is when the power is off.

    The question is for SN74AVC4T234 and what does "Input-Disable Feature" mean?

    Datasheet description simply states Input-disable feature allows floating input conditions. 

    From your feedback, do you mean by SN74AVC4T234 does not have this feature
    because there is no OE port? If so, why this feature is described in the data sheet
    which does not have OE port?

    I do not know why that description was in earlier datasheet versions, but it certainly was not correct.

    Hey Art,

    If the feature isn't listed in the current revision of the data sheet then its likely it was removed due to it being included in error. If they are looking for a feature like this I recommend they take a look at the TXU0104 device that has internal pull-downs at the inputs.
