SN74LVC2G17-Q1: Automotive- and Commercial-Grade Dies

Part Number: SN74LVC2G17-Q1

I'm trying to procure PN SN74LVC2G17QDCKRQ1 for radiation testing, but it appears to be out of stock. I've found SN74LVC2G17DBVT as a possible alternate, but it is a commercial-grade part rather than the automotive-grade like SN74LVC2G17QDCKRQ1.

For the purposes of our testing, our concern is with the die structures of the parts and so my question is whether or not there is a difference between the automotive- and commercial-grade parts with respect to the dies for these part numbers. I understand that the automotive-grade parts are tested for Q100 requirements, but are the dies of the two grades of similar structure, design and fabrication? What notable differences are there between the dies, if any?

  • Hi Andrew,

Yes, there are differences between the automotive and commercial die, although they are extremely similar in design and manufacturing process. For this type of testing, I would recommend waiting for the correct parts to be available.

Specific differences in the design of our devices are proprietary so I cannot share them.
