Hi Team,

I have a question for SN74LVC1G125. The Io continuous output current spec is +/- 50mA , Because customer has a pull down resistor on output about 50 ohm so the output current maybe over

50mA. Does it any damage concern for this IC or does this IC has the limit current circuit in package? Please reply us ASAP , thanks.

If there were an internal current limit, the absolute maximum rating specification would not be necessary.

That pull-down is likely to damage the device.

customer's schematic as below:

that will cause damaged device if add 50 ohm on the PIN4, right? but I saw the continue current clamp on 50mA in datasheet, does this device has current limit function inside?

This device has diodes between all pins and GND to clamp negative voltages. The absolute maximum ratings say that you must not exceed a current of 50 mA through these diodes; otherwise, they would burn out.

The continuous output current rating says that you must not exceed a current of 50 mA through the output transistors; otherwise, they would burn out.
