TXS0104E: Why the DSBGA package has marking on A3 and not A1

Hello,

My customer and their CM had an issue with silkscreen and is concerned about the DSBGA marking on the package. Is there any standard to why the ZXU and NMN packages have the top side marking dot on A1 and the YZT package has it on A3?They are looking for the reason behind this so I can keep a lookout for this in the future when making footprints and silkscreen.

As shown in figures 5-2 and 5-3, the dot and all the pins actually are at the same position. The only difference is that the NMN and YZT packages use a different numbering scheme for the rows and columns.

That is the question. Is there a rhyme or reason to why we decided to use a different numbering scheme where A1 is no longer where the top side marking dot is?

Hi John,

This is less of a technical question about the translation part and more of a TI wide packaging related question that I won't have an answer for. The reasoning could be as simple as the manufacturing sites do different things. If there really is a need for this answer, I recommend going through customer support as they will likely be able to get you in touch with the right folks who either make these decisions or may have more info on the reasoning.
