Hi team,

My customer is looking for a decade divider which has <130ns tpd over temperature.

The use case is a clock for V2X chip and need to divide 10Hz to 1Hz. VCC is 3.3V. And AEC-Q100 is required.

Could you suggest the best device which can achieve this requirements?

The CD74HC4017-Q1 is the best option from the 'discrete logic' portfolio. If that doesn't meet their needs, the next best option would be to use a microcontroller dedicated to this function.

It is possible to build this function from flip-flops and gates, but it's probably not worth the cost when compared to the other two options above.

My customer want to know your idea using discrete flip-flops and gates. Could you teach 1/10 divider circuit?

Do you think SN74LVC574A-Q1 can achieve 130ns tpd?

The propagation delays of all gates will add up.

Instead of flip-flops, it is possible to use a binary counter like the SN74LV393A-Q1. (It has active-high clear inputs, so use an AND gate like the SN74LVC1G11-Q1 for the reset feedback.)
