SN74AHCT1G125-Q1: Internal Diode between Pin 3 (GND) and Pin 4(Y)

Part Number: SN74AHCT1G125-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AHC1G04-Q1

Hi team,

Could you please help check if there is any internal clamping diode for below 2 parts?

  1. SN74AHCT1G125-Q1
  2. SN74AHC1G04-Q1
  • Yes, there are diodes. This is implied by the −0.5 V limit in the absolute maximum ratings.

(Pretty much all logic devices have such diodes from GND to the I/Os; this is a consequence of the substrate being P-doped silicon.)

  • Hi Pengyu,

Both these devices have negative input clamp diodes and both positive and negative output clamp diodes. You can identify this by the sign on the clamp current, - indicating only a negative clamp diode and +/- indicating both positive and negative clamp diodes.

    Regards,

    Sebastian
