TXU0304-Q1: Application questions

Part Number: TXU0304-Q1

Dear team,

The chip 1 has no reverse polarity protection, so my customer plans to use TXU0304-Q1 to act as isolation.

1. This solution of reverse polarity protection is ok? When the battery is reversely connected, the IC_GND is floating.

2. There will be several chips also connecting to TXU0304-Q1's B1~B4 pins in parallel., and these chips share one SPI. Is there any special requirement for data rate?

3. What is the clamping voltage of the TVS2 inside the chip, the clamping voltage of our chip 1 is 8V, when the battery is reversely connected, the TVS1 and TVS2 will break down, forming the loop shown by the red line?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hey Sherry,

I would not recommend using the TXS0304-Q1 device for this purpose. The circled diodes you are referring to are not TVS diodes and will not perform the function desired. I recommend using actual discrete TVS diodes that have guaranteed I-V characteristics.
