Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP2G17
Hi there
we use SN74LVC2G17 as below. there was a mistake: Input pin3 (net PWR_BTN_N) is pulled up to 3.3V by default circuit on another SCH page, so when the button SW2 is pressed , the output 2Y will connect to GND through R25, the I_out will be 3.3V/10ohm = 330mA, this is larger than spec(+/-50mA), and now the measured volatge on pin4 is around 1.1~1.4V, vary from board to board. So the downstream MCU can not stably detect High or Low level.
Unfortunately, revision of Hardware is not an option.
Question:
(1) will this "over output current" situation damage SN74LVC2G17 ?
(2) we wish pin4 output a stable voltage. So we are considering to change R25 to 0ohm. So when SW2 pressed, pin4 will be 0V. However, this will short the pin4 DIRECTLY to GND. Will this situation damage SN74LVC2G17 ?
Thanks!
