SN74AHC367: JTAG Buffer Part Suggestion

Hi,

I was using 8-channel SN74LVC244APW in my earlier design. Few of the signals are removed and now I am planning to use 6-channel JTAG buffer SN74LV367ADR. Kindly confirm whether SN74LV367ADR is correct selection as replacement part for SN74LVC244. If there is any better alternate 6 channel JTAG buffer kindly suggest.

Could'nt find any 6-channel buffer from LVC logic family.

LV has lower drive strength than LVC at 3.3 V. This might or might not matter for your application.

The SN74LVC244A is much cheaper; just keep it and connect the two unused channels to GND. Consider the SN74LVC541A, which makes board routing easier.

SN74LVC541A is again a 8 channel buffer. Can you please suggest a 6 channel buffer.

Hi Shifali,

As Clemens stated the SN74LV367 has much lower drive strengththan the LVC device, which may or may not matter for your application.

All our other 6-channel buffers have even less drive strength than the SN74LV367. We don't know what your requirements are other than a 6-ch buffer, our customers typically pick LVC devices for the high drive strength.
