SN74LVC1G97: SN74LVC1G97: Spice model for the whole LVC1G family (Related Question)

Part Number: SN74LVC1G97

Hello All,

I see Chad Crosby had replied - does anyone know if the Spice/PSpice/TI-PSpice models have been made for these devices - namely the SN74LVC1G97 ?

Thanks In Advance,
John W.

  • Hi John,

No, unfortunately Chad left TI before completing / releasing those models.

I can put the 1G97 model on my list of things to do. If you don't mind working with a relatively untested model, I can probably have something done today or tomorrow.

  • Hey John,

I found some free time to put this together for you -- please let me know if you run into any anomalies with the model as I have only done a basic functional check.

  • Emrys,

Thanks for putting that together so quickly.

Loaded in TINA - looks good to me.

I don't suppose this is available for PSpice for TI just yet either - thought I would ask just in case.

I've done a quick test board - should have results on that in less that one week - I can post the scope traces of that here too - just as a triple check.

We obviously could use this part in some designs here - and I just need to make sure everything is AOK.

    Thanks Again Emrys!
    John W.

  • Hey John,

The model will work in PSpice for TI, however getting it in there is a bit more challenging. I believe you can load it in yourself, but the diodes I used in the model will cause the simulator to see it as a 'third party' model and it will limit your output traces to only 3.

I created a modified version that replaces the clamp diodes with voltage controlled switches - not quite as accurate, but will prevent those errors and likely you won't see any difference. I've been considering making this change for all our models, just to avoid that particular issue (also switches simulate faster than diodes).
