LSF0204: SPDIF support

Part Number: LSF0204
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0102, 2N7001T, SN74AUP1T34, SN74AUP1G125, SN74AUC1G125, TXU0101, SN74LV1T34

Hi team,

My customer is looking for 13.3V to 1.8V 3-ch level translator which supports I2C and SPDIF.

Does LSF0204 support SPDIF? If you know better device for this requirements, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jay

  • 13.3 V or 3.3 V?

The S/PDIF phyiscal layer uses 0.5–0.6 V peak to peak over a 75 Ω cable. This is not a logic signal. Why do you think you need to translate it?

  • Hi Clemens,

    Sorry it's a typo. 3.3V is correct.

They receives as optical and transmit 3.3V. As har as I know the host receives 1.8V level. So they were looking for level shifter.

    Thanks,

    Jay

  • I²C requires a bidirectional translator. The LSF0102 or LSF0204 would work.

It might be possible to translate the digital audio signal with the LSF, but that would require very strong pull-up resistors. Is this signal to be translated up or down? For downtranslation, use any buffer with overvoltage-tolerant input like the SN74AUP1G125/SN74AUC1G125. For uptranslation, use a translator like the SN74LV1T34/125/126/2N7001T/SN74AUP1T34/TXU0101.
