LSF0102-Q1: we are planning to use the LSF0102QDCURQ1 part for MDC/MDIO buffer

Part Number: LSF0102-Q1

Hi Experts,

Our customer is planning to use the LSF0102QDCURQ1 part for MDC/MDIO buffer, changing the IO level from 1.8V to 3.3V, but the VIH and VIL and VOH, VOL values are not mentioned properly in the datasheet, one VIL, VIH value is given but we don't know whether it is a maximum or minimum.

I was able to find the answer in this thread below:
LSF0102-Q1: Help to check LSF0102QDCURQ1 VIL/VIH and VOL/VOH which can't be found in the datasheet - Logic forum - Logic - TI E2E support forums

However, the customer still has additional concerns, it is not described what the VGATE means. Please help. Thank you.

Best regards,
Gerald

  • Hi Gerald,

Please see below from the application report clarifying the Vgs in the referenced thread:

With the device being passive, it can receive any VIL and the VOH would be dependent on your pull-ups.

To have lower VOL, reduce VIL as close to 0V as possible as well as using a low IOL (i.e. weak pull-ups). thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
