my customer is asking questions about thermal information.
I see in the datasheet, we specify θJA Package thermal impedance in section 7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings (eg RGY package 37C/W).
The thermal information then states the following values>
Can you explain to me what θJA Package thermal impedance under Abs Max means in relation to the thermal information table?

For RθJA from the same document.
"RθJA is a measure of the thermal performance of an IC package mounted on a specific test coupon. The intent of RθJA is to give a metric by which the relative thermal performance of a package can be compared. Thus, the thermal performance of a TI device can be compared to a device from another company."

Thermal Characteristics of Linear and Logic Packages Using JEDEC PCB Designs describes how the θJA value in the abs max table is calculated.
This value should not be violated. The RθJA value should just be used to compare our devices performance to competitors performace as stated in the document linked previously.
