SN74LVCC3245A: Max load requirements

Part Number: SN74LVCC3245A

Tool/software:

I have a guess on the max capacitive load this your chip is validated to use but it isn't clean on the data sheet and seems low to me.

We have circuit:

The processor pushes OUT1_3.3 on the A7 input controlling the B7 output.  Part U19 has 10pF cap and I'm not worried about that.  This issue is we want to change R226 to a capacitor, but there is not a clear max output capacitance that I saw on your data sheet that the U16 (SN74LVCC3245A) can push.

Can you clearly say what the typical and max output that your chip can push that I should validate the system with?

Thanks

Nick

  • Capacitors up to about 70 pF can be driven directly. (The datasheet does not mention this value.) For larger capacitors, the (dis)charge current can exceed the absolute maximum rating of the output current, and you need, e.g., a current-limiting series resistor.

Why the capacitor? For a LPF, you also need a resistor.
