Hi Sourabh,
Our clocked devices do not have an Spice models.
Hi Albert,
Unfortunately, I am unable to get EVM, due to unavailability/shortage. Is there any way to quickly evaluate this IC?
What is the application? (Basically the only reasonable application is controlling LEDs, because when writing data into the shift register, the shifting bits are directly visible at the outputs. See the application curve in the SN74HCS164 datasheet.)
Application is Sequential turn Animation. I wanted to simulate the IC along with IC555 timer. I am able to get IBIS model for SN74HCS164, however Pspice for TI does not accept IBIS model.
IBIS models do not describe the logic function; the specify only the electrical characteristics of the I/O buffers.
You can simulate such a shift register with the components it contains:
It's very difficult/impossible to create proper DFF components in PSPICE, hence why we do not provide PSPICE models for any of our DFF/latches/shift registers (to my knowledge). I would note that our LM555 timer doesn't have a SPICE model either.
If you are willing to use ngspice it is not only possible but much easier to perform these types of digital simulations.
Best,
Malcolm
