CD74HC14 at VCC=5V

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD74HC14

Hi,

What will be the VT+ and VT- of CD74HC14 when the VCC is 5V.

Thanks,

Shihab.

  • Hello,

just take the values from the data sheet, the threshold voltages must be somewhere between min/max (likely to be closer to the 4.5V values):

    Vt+ = 1.7 - 3.15 @4.5V, 2.1 - 4.2 @ 6V (whole temperature range)
    Vt- = 0.9 - 2.2 @4.5V, 1.2 - 3.0 @ 6V

But: You should not use such a Schmitt-Trigger input gate if you worry about the threshold voltages. These gates are just good to refresh slow and noisy digital signals. If you need defined threshold voltages you should use comparators (or e.g. a 555 for slow applications).
