SN54SC8T541-SEP: Mixed input and input same as VCC ok?

Part Number: SN54SC8T541-SEP

Tool/software:

Hi,

I couldn't find it explicitly stated in the documentation, so I wanted to verify that:

1)  Mixed inputs values can be used.  For example, 2.5V and 1.8V signals can be input to a part that has VCC as 3.3V

2)  A signal can be input that is the same as VCC.  For example, a 3.3V signal can be input to a part that has VCC as 3.3V+

Thanks,

Todd

  • 1. High-level input signals must reach VIH. With a 3.3 V supply, this is 1.45 V.

    2. The inputs are overvoltage tolerant; the recommended operating conditions allow all voltages up to 5.5 V.

So high-level input signals must be between VIH and 5.5 V.
