Hi,

I've downloaded the latest datasheet for the devices (Product Folder Links: SN54HC164, SN74HC164), and I noticed that the recommended input voltage range is:

  • Minimum: 0V
  • Maximum: 3.3V

To be honest, it's quite difficult to meet this range strictly, as it leaves no margin for undershoot or overshoot.

From our measurements:

  • The maximum input voltage observed was 3.41V
  • The minimum input voltage observed was -0.07V

Could you please help confirm the exact input voltage specifications for this device? Specifically, is there truly no tolerance allowed beyond the stated range?
