SN74HC595: SO#425270, 425271 // SN74HC595N

Part Number: SN74HC595

Tool/software:

Dear,

Customer has bought parts of SN74HC595N from Mouser, total is 1600pcs and the end-customer found the parts are not working properly.

"After assembling the purchased ICs onto the board, the display failed to operate correctly. The customer carried out a step-by-step investigation to identify the root cause.

They confirmed that all other components on the board functioned normally.

When replacing the ICs with the same part number from your product, the display malfunctioned.

To verify further, the customer swapped the ICs with the same part number sourced from another stock. With those ICs, the display worked properly without any issues. This indicates that the malfunction is directly related to the ICs supplied from your batch.

The problem is reproducible and not related to the design of the customer’s system, as the system has been running reliably with the same part number from another seller. Therefore, we request to proceed with a claim for the defective ICs supplied."

Please help to verify and advise if customer can claim this issue.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

  • The most like cause is that the clock input signal violates the Δt/Δv limit, or that some other signals violate the setup/hold time limits.

Please show an oscilloscope trace of the clock signal, zoomed in so that the edge slope is measurable.
