SN74HC193 transition time

Hi

I had talked with customer about transitions time on the datasheet.

Is the unit "ns"? I wonder that is ns/V.

Also I found the application note on TI web site which is summarized about transition time.

The unit of transition time is "ns/V"

Does this means 100ns/V( at LV-A / VCC=3V to 3.6V ) and the rise time is 360ns at VCC=3.6V?

Our customer were confused for this specifications.

Regards,

Koji Hamamoto

  • Hi Hamamoto-san,
Yes, the unit should say ns/V. The maximum rating is there because a slow ramping input voltage can cause output transistors to be partially enabled, creating a weak connection between VCC and ground, but enough to draw unwanted current.
