SN74HC132-Q1: Temperature-Compensated Threshold Levels

Dear Team,

we received a request regarding the threshold level of our logic device SN74HC132-Q1. The customer wants to use the device at 5V and 3.3V.

The datasheet mentions the threshold level with min/max values as well with a typical value @ 25°C.
The complete temperature range only states min/max values.

Since the part has temperature-compensated threshold levels:

Is the assumption correct, that the typ. threshold level stays the same over the complete temperature range?
And the part-to-part variation is within the min/max values?

hi Martin ,

Typical threshold values would have some variation based on the temp range but most likely the hysteresis would stay the same since the drift cancel each other out .
Part to part variation would be between the min and max as per the datasheet.

unfortunately , i do not have any plots for HC132-Q1. I referred a similar device SN74LVC1G132 and found that the lower the temp the lower is the threshold values in general.

thanks for the answer.

The LVC1G132 does not have the feature "temperature-compensated threshold levels".
Are there maybe some other data available of a device similar to the HC132?

Just to understand how the "temperature-compensated threshold levels" implementation works and what we can expect from it.

hi Martin ,

I talked to the product engineer about the temp compensated threshold values and you are right about the Vt not shifting with the temperature.
The char data is really old and had to be scanned in from a paper copy! i see that the Vt shift is minimal across temp and across different lots.
