SN74LVC1G04: Power calculation

Hi,

I am doing power calculation for this IC.I gone through the below document

After that I done this calculation.Can you please verify:-

Vcc=3.3V,Icc=10uA                        Static PD=Vcc*Icc=0.033mW

Cpd=18pf,Fi=10Mhz,Ni=1                        Transient PD=Vcc*Vcc*Fi*Cpd*Ni=0.196mW

Cl=15pf,fo=10Mhz(assume),Nsw=1         Capacitive PD=Vcc*Vcc*Fo*Nsw=1.63mW

So total PD(max)= Static PD+Transient PD+Capacitive PD=3.63mW

So I can Consider the maximum power dissipation of SN74LVC1G04 3.63mW.

I think this is too much low value. Is it right calculation for Power dissipation??

  • Hi Ash,

    Your third equation is missing Cload, however it looks like your calculation included it, so no problem there. I double checked your math and got the same result.

    In normal operation, you would actually expect to see much lower power consumption than this, but this is a good value for the maximum.
