SN74AHCT1G32: Question on power up/power down and how the output behaves

Part Number: SN74AHCT1G32

Hi Support team

Customer would like to understand the state of the output pin when the device is in the process of having the power supply ramped up. Is the output high Z or if both inputs are pulled low, and there is a pull down on the output will the output be guaranteed to be a low output?

Same for power down, as the supply decays, what does the output do?

Thanks

Jeff Coletti

  • The AHC(T) family does not have the Ioff feature that would protect the outputs when the device is powered down.
And the '32 does not have a tristate output, so it will always actively drive the output either high or low.

When the supply voltage is outside the recommended operating conditions, the device is not guaranteed to work correctly, i.e., the output state is undefined. It might switch between low and high multiple times when the gates of various internal transistors reach their threshold voltage.
