SN74LVC157A: Isolation of the SN74LVC157A

Part Number: SN74LVC157A

Hi team,

My customer uses the SN74LVC157A to choose the clock source. Because the phase noise is the main concern for the clock, they want to know the isolation of the SN74LVC157A. I don't find the isolation spec of the SN74LVC157A.

Could you help to provide the isolation of the SN74LVC157A or recommend a mux whose isolation is up to 80dB.

Thanks a lot!

Lacey

  • Hi Lacey,

The SN74LVC157A is an active logic device, not an analog mux, so we don't spec signal isolation. There are multiple stages of internal logic gates between each input and the output stage, so it's unlikely that input fluctuations from the non-selected input will be found on the output (with the exception of EMI coupling outside the device).  I don't have a spec on this, however.

If you need a device with that specified, you should look at our analog muxes - but I would expect the performance to be worse on those because of the change in construction/functionality.
