CD4073B: CD4073BM Maximum Output Sink / Source Current.

Part Number: CD4073B

Hello,

How can I check the Maximum Output Sink / Source Current of the CD4073BM.

The datasheet only specify the minimum current.

There is some way to calcule the Maximum Output Sink / Source Current? Based in the Output MOSFETs characteristics.

Thanks.

Domingos Gonçalves

  • The current is specified for a specific voltage drop. For example, at 25°C and VCC=5V, you are guaranteed to get at least 0.51 mA without the output dropping lower than 4.6 V.

If you try to get more current, you might get a larger voltage drop (without any guaranteed limit). In other words, this current is the maximum current that you should design your circuit for.
