SN74ABT244A: Is this device using any SEL hardening strategies

Part Number: SN74ABT244A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN54ABT244

Hi Sir/Mdm,

May I know if SN74ABT244A is using any SEL hardening strategies like SOI technology, Triple Wells, Guard Rings etc?

And in terms of process, is SN74ABT244A the same as SN74ABT16244?

Thanks.

Regards,

Ken

  • Hi Ken,
I cannot publicly post details of how we design devices.

The SN74ABT244A is guaranteed to meet latch-up requirements specified in JEDEC standard JESD-17.

If you need a device that has additional hardening (ie a military or space rated device) then you should look at the SN54ABT244. If that's something you'd like to learn more about, I can get you in touch with our high reliability group.
  • Hi Emrys,

    Thanks for your reply.

The concern we have is the Single Event Latchup (SEL) due to radiation which may occur on CMOS or BiCMOS. process technology.

If there is a space grade equivalent for SN74ABT244A, we will be very interested.

May I have your help to link us up with your high reliability group?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Ken

  • Ken, I am with the High Reliability group.
All of our space grade offerings are detailed here along with any radiation reports that we have generated.

Unfortunately, we have on 3 logic devices that have been radiation hardened. Most of the standard logic devices are fairly weak for TID (~10Krad). I am uncertain of their generic SEL immunity.
The logic devices that are rad hardened are the AC00, AC02 and the AC14.
