TXB0101: driving capability and waveform fail question

Part Number: TXB0101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV1T34

Hi expert,

My customer is using TXB0101 as translator between one wire command host and LED string(LED on chip). Schematic is shown below. And they tested with LED string then waveform seems like distortion shown below(also normal waveform which is before installing LED string and also test with high temperature by hair dry). Could you give us any idea on this case?

P.S. They use the same architecture with our SN74LV1T34 and there is no error or weird waveform be seen.

Thans a lot!!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

I am looking into this issue to find out more. I will have an answer to you by the end of the day.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Ann,

Can you please provide me with a schematic of the device showing the connections of the inputs and outputs?

The TXB0101 has no drive strength so I can believe that could be a problem. Do you require there to be a bidirectional translation? If the output is going directly to the string of LED's then you may want to use a buffer. The SN74LV1T34 is one example buffer you can use that has the drive strength capable of performing the task required.

    Thanks!
