SN74LVC138A: Support voltage of the 3 line to 8 line decoder

Part Number: SN74LVC138A

Hi team,

My customer are looking for a 3 line to 8 line decoder that can support the 1.2V supply voltage, do we have the part for this?

Lacey

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Lacey,
I'm afraid that we do not currently have any decoders in the 1.2-V arena.

Can you tell me about the use-case and end equipment?
  • Hi Emrys,
    It's the requirement from SSD.
Customer feedback the new generation SSD will increase the speed and reduce the I/O voltage from 1.8V to 1.2V.
Does the production line have any plan to improve the current part to support the I/O to 1.2V

    Lacey
    Thanks a lot!
  • Hey Lacey,
This is something we have been considering, but have not started a new project for yet. In order to better define the part, can you tell me a few more details?

    Expected load (pF):
If you don't know exact capacitance, the # of chips connected and length of traces will give us an idea.

    Required drive current (mA):
Is this driving only CMOS inputs, or is it driving something with higher input current?

    Required propagation delay (ns):
    What transition rate is required?

Required data rate (Mbps or MHz):
You mentioned faster but not by how much.

Also, if you can email me with business case details (project timeline, projected volumes, expected project lifetime) , it would be helpful.
