SN74LVC00A-EP: extended temp to -60C?

Part Number: SN74LVC00A-EP

Team,

My customer has the following question:

For the following part numbers (SN74LVC00AMPWREP, SN74LVC74AMPWREP & CLVC2G17MDCKREP) I understand that operation is not guaranteed outside the operating temperatures specified in the part datasheets.  I need to know a couple things: 1)  Can the outputs latch high or low when operated at -60 degC & 2) Can the parts be damaged from operating them at -60 degC.

What are the failure modes when operating at -60 degC?

Thanks,

Aaron

  • Aaron,
I don't think it is likely that the outputs would latch or get stuck driving high or low based on operation or cold-start at -60. Nor would I expect damage or stress to occur to device However, this environmental condition was not designed for, nor characterized.
The abs max storage condition is listed at -65c, so from a non electrical standpoint this is okay and not damaging to package.
