SN74LVC16244A: Question about the input groove when rise and fall time

Part Number: SN74LVC16244A

Hi team,

When my customer use SN74LVC16244A device, they found input clock has one groove when rise and fall time as below. The during time of groove is about 1ns and the amplitude is about 100mV. Customer wants to know whether it would impact chip function and performance. Thanks a lot!

Best Regards

  • Hi Zhengquan,

It's relatively common to see this type of nonmonotonicity in a signal when there are relatively long transmission lines involved in the system.

I would not expect to see any issues from such a short 'groove.'  It would take the output much longer to switch than 1ns, and the worst case would be to see a very brief (~1ns) slow down of the output transition.
