SN74HC273: Clarification on how to detect corroded pins

1. How can we detect if it is a corrosion or not?
2. Why can’t them be soldered sufficiently in the wave soldering process?
3. Is there a special flux necessary?

    1. TI doesn't ship corroded parts. I've never seen a brand new device with corrosion on the leads.  You can check by adding flux manually to a lead and heating it with a soldering iron, then cleaning off the burned flux with alchohol.  Corroded leads will be cleaned by this process -- roughened leadframes will remain the same.

    2. I don't know the reason your customer is having issues -- do you have an example, perhaps an image of a device soldered with the wave soldering process? I can contact the TI packaging team to try to learn more about this.

    3. Usually the type of flux is determined by the manufacturer on a first run -- this is a standard practice to ensure the best adhesion. PCB manufacturers are experts at this - we typically leave it to them.
