CD4069UB: need to step up the 3.3 volt logic to more than 8 volt.

i needed to step up the 3.3-volt logic to more than 8 volts. we have CD4069UB ic available with us. when i saw datasheet i could see that by using VDD at 10 or 15 volts. the input PWM can be stepped up as well.

i am confused is it possible nad how it can be done.

The CD4069UB is a plain inverter and cannot do level shifting.

You need something like the CD40109B. (VDD can be any value between 3 V and 18 V, but the datasheet lists some parameters only for certain voltages.)

Thanks for recommending. I could see the propagation delay is around 200 ns turn on and the same as turn off total is around 400 ns. isn't it too much?

Hi Mohammad,

I don't understand your question on if it is too much. It depends on your requirements if that Tpd is too much. This is an older part so it was designed on old process technology. Our newer parts will have faster propagation, but none of them can translate >8 V.
