Hi Team,
I have a question at SN74AHC8541.
Is there a protection circuit in Y pin? For example, ESD protection circuit.
If there is a protection circuit, is it VDD or GND? Or both?
If the Ypin is broken, is it open or short?
Best Regards,
Ishiwata

All input and output pins have ESD protection (see SN74AHCT125-Q1: input pin). At the outputs, it's implemented with diodes to VCC and GND.
If the diodes are damaged, they can fail either short or open (or first one and then the other), and the damage can also affect other nearby circuitry. If the absolute maximum ratings are exceeded, there are no guarantees.
