Compiler/PAL16L8A-2M: IS your part compatible with the current programmer

Part Number: PAL16L8A-2M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PAL16L8A

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

We are going to replace our obsolete part (PALC16L8-40DMB) with your part (PAL16L8A-2M). My question is that whether your part is compatible with our programmer or not?

We use DATA I/O Model 9 Universal PROM programmer. Also, our current part is programmed according to Motorola translation format 055-0082-ASCII Hex Motorola Exerciser Format.

Also, Please let us know if there is any limitation on your part as far as accepting the specific programming language.

  • Saeideh,

    DATAIO should have a programmer, or adapter to program the PAL16L8A.

    However, I am doubtful that the programming files are equivalent.   They have similar logic architectures, but completely different programming.

    These devices are extremely old, and there is very little expertise remaining in industry.

  • Thank you so much for your response.

    Would you please provide some information about the procedure of programming your part. (What is the programmer specification)

    I'd be grateful if you send me any document explaining about your programmers and programming procedure.

    Also, could you please let me know whether the  what is the acceptable format for your part programing?

  • This is duplicate question you asked in another post.
