SN74LV06A: Output capacitance per channel

Part Number: SN74LV06A

Hi,

what is the output capacitance of each channel for this component? It is not specified in the datasheet, but necessary for this project.

The output channels are all tied together in a wired-OR configuration. The time constant of the pull-up depends on the capacitive load. What is the capacitive load when all 6 output channels are tied together?

Since all output channel are tied together with 1K pullup resistor, the output capacitance (of all channels) cannot be large, so as to make sure the resulting time constant (1Kohm x Cout-all) is reasonably smaller than 1 bit time, i.e. 250ns for 4MHz.

Thanks

KdT

  • Hey Kevin,

Output capacitance is not spec'd for this device. My best recommendation since it is critical, is to set up an EVM and run some tests with the intended load. You can measure each resistor to keeps those values controlled, and you will be able to measure the rise time. Otherwise, you can use an estimate value by using the input capacitance.
