SN74AUP2G07: can i pull-up the OD output of SN74AUP2G07 through Kohm to other voltage level > VCC of this part ?

Part Number: SN74AUP2G07
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP1G07, SN74AUP3G07, SN74AXC2T45

hi,

i am using SN74AUP2G07 with 1.5V VCC and directly connect the OD output to input pin of other 3V device. the OD output was pull up to 3V through 10K.

since i just see in datasheet chap 6.3 ( RecommendedOperatingConditions) the Vo 's range is 0-VCC, i wonder if my design is OK or what you recommend in my application ?

thanks

jason

  • The SN74AUP1G07 and SN74AUP3G07 datasheets allow 3.6 V, as expected for an open-drain output.

Apparently, the entry in the SN74AUP2G07 datasheet is just wrong. Your design is OK.

  • Thank you Clemens.

    Polo,

As Clemens mentioned, AUP2G07 can be used for level translation using PU resistors. I will also make a note to get this corrected in the ds.

You could also consider using the SN74AXC2T45 as a 2 channel level translator for 1.5 to 3.3V level translation. There is no external pullup resistors required on this device.
