I have selected SN74GTLPH16912 as bus driver between mother board which has 16 backplanes and daughter board.

I have read some application notes at www.ti.com/gtlp but still have few questions:

1. Regarding to live-insertion, I understood implement of BiasVcc is realized by using different lengths of connector pins, but how to realize Ioff, power-up 3-stste?

2. Every pair of termination resistors for B port signals should only exist on mother board, do any more termination resistors are needed on daughter board for B port signals?

Hi David

The Ioff and power up 3 state will work regardless of Bias Vcc. Ioff works when Vcc is at 0V and Power up 3-state works when Vcc is being powered up.

The termination resistor on the backplane should be sufficient. Sometimes series resistor are used for extra ESD protection..
