SN74LVC1G175: Pin FMEA

Part Number: SN74LVC1G175

Hello,

I have a customer starting board bring up and they are wishing to test before applying power, they have asked if we have a FMEA analysis  (pin to adjacent pins,  pin short to gnd, pin short to power supply, open pin) for this device to save him some time.

PN: SN74LVC1G175DCKR

Thank you,

-Will

  • Hi Will,

No, we don't supply pin FMEA analysis for standard logic devices, however I can give you a quick guide to essentially all logic devices for this application.

Never connect 2 outputs together, or an output to Vcc or GND - this can cause damage to the device.

Inputs can be shorted to another input, Vcc, or GND - but doing so will cause the device to operate abnormally.

The SN74LVC1G175 only has 6 pins, and only one of those is an output (Q), so there are only 2 cases when damage could occur -- if Q (pin 4) is shorted to Vcc (pin 5), or if Q is shorted to GND (pin 2).  Any other failure would cause abnormal operation, but not damage.
