Hello,

I use the SN74LVC2G06 with 3.3V supply.

The open drain output is pulled up with 4.7k to 5V.

1) Is this connection valid?

2) In this particular connection, will the input voltages correspond to 3.3V? Meanning Vih=2V, Vil=0.8V?

3) Can 20Mhz data rate be used?

4) No latch up danger using this kind of connection?

1. Yes.

2. You have correctly read the V_IL/V_IH specifications from the recommended operating conditions table.

3. 1 / 20 MHz = 50 ns. See the switching characteristics.

4. See the V_O specification in the absolute maximum ratings and recommended operating conditions.

Hello,

Yes, overall this is a valid connection as Clemens has noted, no issues for operation or overdriving the output above VCC up to 5.5V per the Vo in the recommended operating conditions.

As for 20MHz, you need to know what your output capacitance is so that you can determine if 4.7kOhm is strong enough to transition the output to support this speed of operation.
