CD4040B-MIL: difference between suffixes on TI parts; CD4040B vs CD4040B-MIL vs CD4040BF3A vs CD4040BF3A/883

Part Number: CD4040B-MIL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD4040B

If there is a TI document that explains the myriad of TI suffixes, can you please send it to me.  Nearly all of my inquiries here are due to the WIDE variety of suffixes utilized on TI products - across the part type spectrum, not just logic.

Additionally, part numbering is also adjusted by whose original die belongs to, TI versus National Semiconductor for example.  Published documentation on this would be helpful as well.

I understand from previous posts that the "883" call-out is not usually used any more, and there is a "883-like" designation now.  Please explain.

I no such documentation exists that can be shared, please answer ALL of the questions in the "E2E thread title"

Thank you.
